Gargoyle New is a grotesque sans serif typeface with a variable weight axis. It has more obvious character the larger it is, like its eponymous stone gutters. Built to be the first workhorse sans of Multiocular Type's library, Gargoyle New has a mostly unmodulated stroke and feels like a standard neo-grotesque sans at smaller sizes and weights. When it is used at larger sizes and weights, its conspicuous ink traps are visible like some vestigial remnant of its grotesque heritage. By playing at both the boring and lavish extrema of older sans type design, it is able to walk in both worlds–old and new.

It has support for nearly 400 Latinate languages. This is thanks to the Latin S character set suggested by Christoph Koeberlin in addition to the Currency Symbols In a Latin Language Character Set suggested by Alanna Munro. Both run type foundries of their own, please support them as well if possible.
